- 1 15 oz. can chickpeas rinsed and drained
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 2 teaspoons syrup
- 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
Instructions
- Drain and rinse chickpeas well. Spread the chickpeas out on a clean, absorbent paper towel and gently dry the chickpeas. You can peel the skins off the chickpeas at this point if you’d like, this can help for extra crispiness.
- Transfer the chickpeas to a bowl, drizzle the oil on top and mix well.
- Spread the chickpeas onto the two cooking trays making sure they do not overlap. Place the trays in the air fryer oven and roast at 370˚F for 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes, swap the tray positions and cook at 370˚F for another 15 minutes.
- While the chickpeas finish roasting, combine the maple syrup, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, sea salt, black pepper, and cayenne in a medium bowl until a paste forms.
- After the cooking time is done, place the warm chickpeas in the paste bowl and gently toss to evenly coat them with the seasoning mixture.
- Place them back on the cooking trays to cool before serving.
